Chamba figures are thought to be a medium for communicating with the spirit world. Their columnar form with definitive angles and blocky characteristics immediately bring to mind Cubist figural sculptures. The leg treatment and arm angles are reminiscent of Mumuye styling, probably from regional artistic influence. This doll shows much use and one foot has some erosion.
