This curiously animated Talipoon was used to help secure a wife for young Boiken males. There is something about the mouth of this example that brings to mind someone in mid speech. Located in the Prince Alexander Mountains, the Boiken culture is known for, among other classic imagery, their complex and other worldly basketry masks. As unusual as these images are in our culture, they are friendly and curious, running the gamut from playful to wildly imaginative. Losses and repairs.
