  • Amethyst is the birthstone for February

The interior has small, violet, quartz points transitioning to a polished face consisting of a thin ring of tan agate into a thick band of blue/grey agate all enclosed by the outer brown and green rock.

Amethyst has a typical crystal habit of forming a six sided prism ending in a six sided pyramid.

The ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication, so they created wearable drinking goblets, believing the cups would help maintain their sobriety.

Current day belief holds that amethyst has many healing properties including aiding with calm, tranquility and grounding. All of which can contribute to sobriety.
